Signed, Sealed & Delivered Part 3

By Stacia W. Adams

HEBREWS 12:1-2

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and sin which so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

GRACE & MERCY

The fourth seal is the pale horse which is Death and following is Hell. Because of the love God has for us while in the years before the Great Tribulation we have are blessed to have God’s grace and mercy. Grace is God giving us what we don’t deserve and mercy is withholding that which we do but the wonderful thing about God is that how generous He is with both.  With our hope fixed on Christ Jesus as believers in the Pre-Tribulation period we can look forward to sleeping in Christ or being raptured because we live and die ready. As for those who come to Christ during the Great Tribulation the events that will take place will be both a sobering and reassuring reminder that to die for Christ is gain. The world has its “twins”, Death and Hell but Church also has its “twins”, Grace and Mercy.

LEAD WITH LOVE

The “race” is the life of the believer. We don’t have to be the strongest, fastest or the wisest but we are called to endure and to remain faithful to the end. Jesus Christ is our example of endurance for He conquered death, hell and the grave. It is imperative that we are ever mindful of the sacrifice He made on Calvary and His unfailing love toward us. As the seals are being opened in Revelation it becomes clear how important the fact that God sent His only begotten son to save us actually is. His love, grace and mercy towards us is a powerful indication that we should be always be focused on that which is eternal. Having eternity as our primary focus causes us to realize that tribulations we face now are minor compared to the Great Tribulation soon to come.  Salvation is free but it’s not cheap. It comes with a cost and we should never take that for granted because the shed blood of Christ purchased our Salvation. Worship should be lifestyle and love should be a fluent language. It’s our responsibility to share the joy of Jesus with the lost, to unapologetically and boldly live our lives as sermons of salvation so that the light of God may shine through us for the entire world to see and as peculiar people to journey through this life leading with love. The Church of Jesus Christ must be radical in its revolution.
